Since we’re already in Paris – and speaking about stained glass – we need to mention Sainte-Chapelle, as well. Not too far away, you can see, dare we say, the most beautiful church in the world. The upper chapel is completely ensconced in stained glass windows, some of which date back to the 13th century.
Every panel tells a story. More specifically, 1,113 scenes are presented on these windows. You’ll recognize many of the biblical episodes, beginning in the north with Genesis and ending in the west with the Rose of the Apocalypse. If you have the time, you could get lost in this space for hours upon hours.
