We base so much of our lives on the thoughts and opinions of others. And that’s okay – to an extent. We are pack animals, to a degree. We’re meant to live in community with others. But, when the scales tip too far and we start holding ourselves back to suit the needs of others – family members, bosses, coworkers, roommates, etc. – we’re doing ourselves a terrible disservice. 

This is our life – and we only have one. It may seem like a small thing – you went off to Paris for five days, walked around, and saw the Eiffel Tower. But, if you zoom out, what you actually did was choose yourself, do something for yourself. The more you can take back your life like this, the more peace that will come your way.
