London might be pushing it these days, in terms of safety. But, again, if you stick to the well-populated areas and maybe hire taxis instead of battling the tube, you’ll see there are plenty of ways to cushion your level of self-protection. Keep a close eye on your purse at all times, as well. 

Still, the reason London deserves to be on this list is because, if you’re a royal watcher, there’s so much to see and do. You can take palace tours, see the Crown Jewels in the Tower of London, dip into Westminster Abbey where Queen Elizabeth II married the love of her life, and even make your way out to Windsor to explore the town and castle. Given its historical significance and cultural beauty, it’s hard to overlook London, especially if you’d like to feel like royalty for a weekend.
